Description

We are looking for a vibrant Senior Planning Engineer/ Planning Manager (PLM) with multi-discipline experience in the construction of Mega Mechanical Oil and Gas Projects. The PLM will manage and oversee planning activities for construction projects (worldwide), being responsible for project planning and scheduling, progress and performance monitoring and reporting.
Job Brief:
- Review Contract documentation to ensure a thorough understanding of the Scope of Work and Contract requirements.
- Provide lead to planning team. Direct, support and check the work produced by subordinates to ensure that requirements are met and Company’s norms and procedures applied.
- Prepare programs and schedules (e.g. baseline schedules, construction detailed schedules, etc.) to the level of detail deemed appropriate, in accordance with drawings and Contract obligations.
- Provide regular schedule updates, considering latest data regarding actual progress, revised scope, execution sequence and performance. Ensure that schedule updates are realistic and achievable.
- Utilize Primavera P6 on a regular basis to analyze and recommend improvements to schedules, in terms of logic, critical paths, durations, floats, sequencing, assigned resources (direct man-hours) and execution methodology.
- Develop and agree with Project Management weight factoring calculations to be used in progress monitoring, ensuring compliance with Company’s procedures.
- Analyze actual performance versus baseline schedule, proposing recommendations to mitigate delays and implement remedial actions.
- Calculate productivity figures and analyze productivity trends for each direct trade and for overall project, including subcontractors.
- Prepare Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports, as required by the Contract and Company’s procedures.
- Prepare and update labor and equipment resource programs, showing the work force required for each direct trade and for each subcontractor when applicable.
- Carry out regular visits to site to keep up-to-date with actual progress and establish a timely direct communication with the site personnel (i.e. site superintendents and foremen).
- Attend weekly progress meetings, internal or with the Client as necessary.
Requirements:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University;
• Member of a recognized Engineering Institution is an advantage;
• Minimum (10) years of experience with a construction Contractor’s organization working on a breath of heavy construction Mechanical projects;
• Has attained the position of PLM level on site for project(s) exceeding $100M, with minimum (5) years of proven leadership, presentation and communication abilities;
• Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and WorkFace Planning (WFP) exposure will be an advantage;
• Fluent in written and spoken English;
